This evening, we will be enjoying a splendid view of Vancouver City at one of the city’s most popular attraction - the Vancouver Lookout.

The Vancouver Lookout is located at the Harbour Centre, a short 10 min walk away from our hotel at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront.

The tickets to the Vancouver Lookout cost CAD$17.50 per adult, but as with the hotel, it was included in our land package with the Rocky Mountaineer so we didn’t have to worry about paying for anything. All we ever needed to do was to use the vouchers given by the Rocky Mountaineer to exchange for the actual tickets at the ticketing counter.

That’s the start of our Vancouver Lookout Experience, as we climbed into an elevator that promised to whisk us up to the Observation Deck, 167 metres above sea level in a record 40s.  I could feel my ear drums busting inside the elevator!

There’s also a revolving restaurant above the Observation Deck if you are game for some sky dining.

Since we will be having dinner provided at the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront as part of our hospitality package with the Rocky Mountaineer, we didn’t have a chance to even consider this restaurant, but I can imagine how cool it would be to dine here.

At the Observation Deck, we find ourselves staring down at one of the most beautiful and most livable cities in the world.

360 degrees views of Vancouver city in the day time.  We were quite lucky that the weather cooperated to give us clear skies.

With sky towers, our strategy was always this - go up just before sunset to catch the day views, watch the sunset, and stay on for the night views - killing 3 birds with one stone.

The spectacular sunset views across Vancouver city.

Night views of Vancouver city are equally enchanting.

Final Verdict

Priced at CAD$17.50, the trip up to the Vancouver Lookout cannot be said to be cheap. However, it is one of the few places where you can catch a bird’s eye view of the city. We say, pay for this if you have extra time on your hands, but maximise your stay here.
Join us next as we enjoy a sumptuous dinner @ the P2B Restaurant!
